Cape Build started with a very simple objective. The standard of the building experience should match the standard of the finished work.

I'm James Eddleston, a qualified carpenter and registered builder with more than 15 years of industry experience. I started Cape Build after seeing how much better a project can be when the details are resolved early, budgets are discussed honestly and clients understand what they are paying for.

We build timber and composite decks, pergolas, balustrades, handrails, stairs, pool fencing, feature fencing and privacy screens. Before deciding what to build, we look closely at how the area will be used, how it relates to the existing home and how the materials will perform in the South West climate. The aim is to create something that belongs there and genuinely improves how you use your home.

The finished result matters, but so does the experience of getting there. We take the time to understand what you want to achieve, define the scope clearly and work through the decisions that affect the design, performance and cost before construction begins. We also work closely with designers, engineers, trades and suppliers so everyone understands what is required and the project keeps moving in the right direction.

Being open, and honest is central to who we are as people, how we work and operate our business. If an option does not make sense, or we believe your money would be better spent elsewhere, we will tell you. Whether you decide to build with us or not, our aim is to provide our clients, and potential clients, with as much value and insight as possible.
